This post presents a surgery of Yamane Intrascleral Haptic Fixation, Iridoplasty, and Rhegmatogenous Retinal Detachment Repair.
A 49-year-old man had a history of a metallic foreign body injury to his left eye 2 months prior. One day after the trauma, the patient underwent corneal suturing, pars plana lensectomy, and retinal foreign body removal at another center. However, 2 months later, a macula-on, 360-degree peripheral retinal detachment was detected. The patient was aphakic and had an inferior quadrant iris defect. His BCVA was 20/50 (+12.00).
4 weeks after silicone oil removal, the retina was completely reattached, and VA was 20/40 without a remarkable refractive error.
